Teething Sucks

Ok, so I've decided that getting 4 teeth at one time is really not fun. Our poor little hashbrown has been miserable - and consequently so have we - all week. She has been waking up some at night and has big cranky spurts all day and evening long. And, she has discovered the art of throwing a temper tantrum. And boy, oh, boy, can she throw a nasty tantrum! And now that she can stand up quite well, she loves to just stand up and throw her tantrums...crying, yelling...and then she gets over close enough to you to grab your leg pathetically. hahaha

Tuesday afternoon we met up with Mom and Sarah to have lunch, and we discovered that Emma LOVES (and I mean LOVES) lemons!!! That child just ate them up! She loved sucking on them to get the sour juice! hehe It was so hilarious!

Ooh! And I have more pictures that I uploaded to the computer downstairs that I'll have to try to get on here this weekend, so stay tuned!! hehe

The Sniffles

Poor Emma has a cold. She's sneezing all the time and her nose is running a mile a minute. My poor kiddo. She doesn't seem unhappy, but you can tell she doesn't feel well. This morning I tried to give her peaches in her oatmeal (which she normally loves) but she wouldn't have anything to do with them. So finally, I ended up having to give her plain oatmeal, a piece of buttered toast, and a little formula. So, hopefully she'll be over her sniffles soon!

Oh my goodness! Talk about food diversity! Last night Mark and I ordered Chinese food for dinner and we decided to give Em some Beef and Broccolli. And you know what? She LOVED it! Gobbled it right up...and then wanted more! It was crazy! haha I'm so glad that she's willing to try lots of different foods. It's really great. :-)

Doin' Stuff

Emma is such an active child. She loves to be on the go constently. Crawling, pulling up, getting into stuff. She's started doing this little baseball catcher squat (Phil, you'd love it!) and then likes to go back and forth from that squat to standing. It's so cute. She's gotten really good at standing up all by herself. She'll get herself into that squat and then stand up without having to hold onto anything. And then she likes to walk around holding onto things, like she'll walk all the way around the coffee table just holding on with one hand. She's just getting so big so fast. :-( And before I know it she's going to be 1 year old! They just grow up WAY too fast!

Water Baby

It has come to my attention that I somehow forgot to mention Em's very first swimming excursion. I don't know how it slipped my mind, but it did nonetheless, and I apologize. So, July 1st was Faith's 2nd birthday and we had a fabulously fun pool party at Phil's house. My mom and dad bought Em a crabby shaped pool float and let me just tell you that she LOVED it! And she loved being in the pool! It was amazing! As soon as Mark put her in the float she started kicking her little legs and splashing with her hands! It was so cute!!! And when he'd put her near a stair where she could get her feet down, she pushed off the stair! She had a terrific time and has been dubbed a "water baby". hehehe I can't wait to get her back into the pool. Phil, we definitely need to come over and swim again soon!! hehe I promise I'll get some pictures up as soon as I can.

Slacker

Wow, man, I haven't posted since June 11th. That is awful! I am a big slacker. I'm sorry. So, let me update you on the world of Emma:

1. Yesterday was July 5th, which means Emma turned 10 months old.

2. Those top two teeth are still trying to come in all the way, but they're getting there!!

3. She is VERY fluent in the use of the word "no". hahaha It's really quite funny. She knows when she isn't supposed to get into something, so she turns to you and says "Noooooooo?" haha

4. She crawls like crazy and pulls herself up on EVERYTHING. Also, she's been standing independantly more and more, and can really cruise from object to object.

5. She is a maniac. No, really, she is a maniac. She is in this phase where she laughs at EVERYTHING. I mean, EVERYTHING. And it's crazy, maniacal laughter. Mwaaaaahahahahaha!!!

Ok, well, I guess that is about it for now. I promise to try to be better about keeping things updated!!
